Back in November 2024, the story of DUNU x KOTO ITO officially began. HiFiGo initiated the talks between DUNU and Kaji Kaji(aka KOTO). They conceptualized the ITO based on the vision of Koto. Koto, who has years of expertise in reviewing HiFi audio gear, has given his valuable feedback and worked closely with DUNU for the pair. DUNU, with their years of experience in designing high-fidelity in-ear monitors, have brought the vision of Koto to life with the ITO. The pair underwent five tuning revisions, incorporating real-world feedback from passionate audiophiles during the CanJam Singapore 2025. The goal: an IEM that could deliver a musical, rhythmic, and immersive sound profile without compromising on the technical aspects. Hence, the DUNU x KOTO ITO is born.
As mentioned earlier, DUNU x KOTO ITO houses a four-driver hybrid setup featuring a 2DD+2BA driver setup on each side. The pair adopts a 10mm bio-diaphragm dynamic driver for deep, powerful bass response, an 8mm composite LCP diaphragm DD unit for articulated mid-bass and a clean, natural midrange. Two customized high-performance balanced armature drivers, one for treble and one for ultra-high frequencies, make sure the output is full of sparkling details and exceptional resolution. This finely engineered driver combination ensures the pair delivers a dynamic, coherent sound. The DUNU x KOTO ITO offers a bold, full-bodied sound presentation with dynamic lower-end, clean midrange, and extended treble region. The included cable is a high-purity 4-Core silver-plated single-crystal copper cable with 22AWG wire cores in a Litz braided structure. The cable has 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and features a patented Q-Lock quick switch interchangeable termination plug system with 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced plugs included in the package. DUNU has crafted the ear shells of ITO using skin-friendly resin material. At just 6.5grams per side and ergonomic shape, the pair promises a comfortable fit for most users.
