At the heart of the S3 is a streaming platform built around dual-band Wi-Fi 6, with Bluetooth 5.3 included for convenient wireless playback. The unit supports a wide range of streaming protocols, including Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and DLNA, allowing users to stream directly from their preferred apps or access music stored on local NAS drives.
Beyond streaming, the S3 functions as a complete digital front end. It can operate as a standalone streamer, digital transport, DAC, or preamp, offering flexibility across a wide range of system configurations. With support for high-resolution playback up to 32-bit/384kHz, it delivers detailed, accurate sound while maintaining the convenience of wireless control.
Under the hood, the S3 is powered by the Amlogic A113X streaming platform alongside a flagship AK4493SEQ DAC and OPA1612 op-amps in a balanced circuit design. This architecture provides a clean, low-noise signal path, ensuring a stable and transparent foundation for the rest of the audio system.
The S3 integrates easily into both stereo and home theater setups. With HDMI eARC, RCA, and XLR outputs, optical connections, and a dedicated subwoofer output, it can serve as the centerpiece of a 2.1 system or a traditional HiFi setup. Multi-room playback is supported via AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, allowing synchronized music across multiple rooms.
Control is handled through the Fosi Audio app, which provides intuitive setup, playback management, and a built-in 5-band EQ for sound customization. Users can easily switch between inputs, adjust output modes, and tailor playback to their preferences.
