Esprit Brings Its Generation 10 Cable Lineup to the U.S.

The French brand updates all nine cable ranges with revised construction, new connectors, and changes to conductor geometry and insulation.

French audio brand Esprit has announced the U.S. launch of its Generation 10 cable lineup, also known as Generation X. The new generation updates every range in the company’s cable catalogue and is available to order through authorized U.S. dealers, supported by Playback Distribution.

Based in Confolens, France, Esprit designs and hand-assembles its cables in-house. The company describes Generation 10 as its most extensive cable update in nearly three decades, with changes spanning the entry-level Alpha range through to the flagship L’Esprit series.

Nine ranges covering analog, digital, and power

The Generation 10 lineup comprises Alpha, Beta, Celesta, Eterna, Aura, Lumina, Eurêka, Gaïa, and L’Esprit.

Across those ranges, the catalogue includes speaker cables and jumpers, RCA and XLR analog interconnects, phono cables, AC power cords, and digital connections covering S/PDIF, AES/EBU, USB, Ethernet, and master clock applications. Cable types and construction vary by range.

What’s new in Generation 10

Esprit says it has revised cable dimensions and geometries throughout the lineup, alongside a complete redesign of its connectors. The new connectors use less material in the signal path, with pure copper, silver-plated pure copper, or pure silver centre pins used depending on the range.

One of the main changes concerns conductor geometry. On certain cable architectures, Esprit has moved from the symmetrical 0.08 mm strand structure used in Generation 9 to an asymmetrical arrangement combining 0.08 mm strands on the positive conductor with 0.30 mm strands on the negative conductor. The company attributes greater dynamics and a more natural presentation to this change.

Insulation has also been revised, with rigid insulating material now applied under vacuum to create a harder, more stable structure. Esprit says this contributes to improved control and definition in the lower frequencies. Partial shielding continues on applicable cables, while selected ranges that already used polarization now feature double polarization.

U.S. pricing and availability

Generation 10 cables are available to order now through Esprit’s authorized U.S. dealer network. Pricing for a 2 m pair of speaker cables starts at US$499 for Alpha, rising to US$59,999 for L’Esprit.

For analog interconnects, examples from the October 2026 U.S. retail price list include:

RangeRCA pair, 1.2 mXLR pair, 1.2 m
AlphaUS$499—
BetaUS$699US$749
CelestaUS$1,399US$1,599

Multiple lengths are offered, with pricing dependent on cable type, range, and length. More information is available from Esprit and Playback Distribution, with U.S. retail price sheets and dealer information available through Playback Distribution.
